My Journey to Simplify Nonprofit

Updated: Jun 3, 2021

In 2017, following my career in the YMCA Movement for 30+ years, I made a bold decision. I took a risk and left what was familiar. I was nervous yet felt confident. There was some degree of doubt, yet I felt

that my decision to go out on my own was the right one. I realized that I was able to bring my business acumen and proven coaching practices that I cultivated throughout my career to other nonprofits through consulting. To get started I simply asked a few of my colleagues in the nonprofit world how they were doing, and what was keeping them up at night. One thing led to another, and my vision began to be fulfilled.

Being able to offer guidance to key executive leaders gives me tremendous gratification. They often call me to ask advice, or to talk through an idea. I know that I took the right path when I see the solid, beneficial outcomes from working together. Yes, consulting is very different from working for a large, established, highly known organization. Yet, it is each organization’s ability and enthusiasm that gets me excited and besides, I love a challenge! As a consultant, I am able to work with leaders on ideas that they own. I love the opportunity to bring an organization around to a place where they find pride in their team, in their concepts and in their results.

Now, I am proud to announce the official launch of the new Simplify Nonprofit website, brand image, and blog. Simplify Nonprofit is a highly respected resource in the nonprofit space for compliance, governance, operational infrastructure, fund raising, executive coaching, and strategic planning.
